What would you do if you couldn’t fail?

Your Achievements

If you are someone who wants to become better at anything, you’ll find a lot of value in reading The Growth Guide’s Newsletter.

Hi friend,

This concept just randomly popped into my head the other day and it stuck with me:

Imagine you lived a full life. You’ve achieved all your aspirations. Everything you ever set your mind to. Your touch has been like Midas’s, turning everything into gold through smart work and determination.

One day, while browsing the internet, you come across a Wikipedia page with your name on it. It’s a detailed chronicle of your life’s achievements.

What does it say? What did you achieve?

Take a moment today and really think about this.

Quick Question:

What prizes would you want in a giveaway?

⚖️ This week in Law History — with help from Afreen Ali

This is a new series added to the newsletter. Like the weekly events below, it is something to look forward to every Sunday.

  • 3 December 1931: — The UK Parliament passed the Statue of Westminster, under which the British Dominions of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Irish Free State and Newfoundland gained complete legislative independence.

  • 4 December 1586: — Queen Elizabeth I conferred the death sentence on Mary Queen of Scots after discovering a plot to assassinate her.

  • 5 December 2005: — The Civil Partnership Act came into effect in the UK. It gave same-sex couples rights and responsibilities identical to civil marriage.

  • 6 December 1884: — The Representation of the People Act 1884 received Royal Assent. It allowed virtually all men, except domestic servants and those in receipt of poor relief, to vote in general elections.

  • 7 December 1892: — The iconic Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Company was decided. This case clarified that an advertisement can be considered a binding offer and that using the product as specified in the ad can constitute acceptance of that offer, forming a contract.

  • 8 December 1965: — The new Race Relations Act came into force, making racial discrimination unlawful in public places.

  • 9 December 1884: — R v Dudley and Stephens was decided. It established a precedent throughout the common law world that necessity is not a defence to a charge of murder.
