Hi friends,
My work here at Equal Opportunity is simple. I just want to help people become aware of the opportunities available to them. You are part of the fastest growing community in this space. We are 7000+ strong and we’re only 3 months in. Many of you benefit from the resources, but there are a lot of people that still aren’t aware of the opportunities around them.
If you can think of someone, please share this with them. You’ll also get access to unreleased content, CV and Application reviews. Your link is at the very bottom of this email.

💪🏻Turn a vac scheme into a training contract
These tips are kindly provided by Idin Sabahipour, founder of LittleLaw and Dual-Qualified Lawyer.
Demonstrate curiosity
Ever wondered how people that never studied law manage to get a training contract?
Well, this is one of the reasons. In the context of a vacation scheme, your legal knowledge is not useful. The best indicator whether someone is going to learn quickly is whether or not they are asking questions and the type of questions they ask.
For example, when given any task, make sure you find out and understand how it fits into the bigger picture.
Show your work ethic
At the end of the day, always ask your supervisor and the other people on your team if there’s anything else they need help with before you leave. This demonstrates that you’re willing to work hard and put in the hours if necessary.
I never actually got extra work during my vacation scheme doing this, but It got me bonus points.
Idin
Always be willing to go the extra mile. There isn’t a standard formula for this and it’s largely dependant on the task. Think about of ways you can save other people some time.
Be you
Your team, supervisors and the other vac schemers are your future colleagues. Even though you’ll be nervous during your vacation scheme, try to be your normal self with them.
How you interact with your team is a really important part of assessing your overall performance. You’re more likely to get good feedback if you are a nice person to be around.
Bonus tip
Carry with you a pen and pad at all. Most likely you will be nervous and will likely forget when someone asks you to do something. Write it down as quickly as you hear it. It will save you a ton of time.
I still do this everyday.
